Bahrain's Riffa take on Al Qadisiya of Kuwait this evening in the 2024-25 AGCFF Gulf Club Champions League.
The match is scheduled to be played at Qadisiya’s home pitch, Mohammed Al Hamad Stadium, in Kuwait City. It is scheduled for a 5.35pm kick-off.
The match will be the fourth in Group B of the competition’s preliminary round. The two sides had earlier met last month in the kingdom in a match that ended in a 2-2 stalemate.
Riffa head into the contest currently in second place on the table with four points from their opening three games – which included a loss to leaders Al Ettifaq of Saudi Arabia, a win against Al Arabi of Qatar, and the draw against Qadisiya.
Ettifaq are in first place with a maximum nine points, while behind Riffa are Qadisiya with two points and Arabic last with one.
As part of the pre-match formalities, the official technical meeting was held yesterday with officials from both teams and the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) in attendance. Riffa officials Talal Yusuf and Ahmed Al Kooheji took part.
Riffa, coached by Hitham Jatal, have two games remaining in this stage of the competition following this evening’s affair.
Both will be held in 2025, first against Ettifaq at home on February 5. They then fly to Doha to wrap up their schedule against Arabi on February 18.
The AGCFF Gulf Club Champions League is organised and run by the AGCFF and it features eight teams in its inaugural season under its new format. Group A is composed of Al Nasr of the UAE, Ahli Sanaa of Yemen, Dhofar of Oman, and Duhok of Iraq.
