GCC nationals, including Bahraini citizens, will soon be granted longer visa-free stay in Kyrgyzstan, as the landlocked Central Asian country, looks to boost tourism and offer increased investment and business opportunities.
Starting January 4, 2025 visitors will be able to stay in the country for 180 days (six months) within a 360-day window, an increase from the current period of 60 days.
Making the announcement, Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Affairs Ministry added that after leaving the country tourists will have to wait for 21 days before they can re-enter.
A visa will still be required if people are entering the country for employment or education purposes.
Earlier this year, Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani met his Kyrgyzstani counterpart, Jeenbek Kulubaev, during the Central Asia-GCC Strategic Dialogue in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
