AN official at one of Bahrain’s top educational institutions has been named as a finalist in a national initiative.
Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) – Medical University of Bahrain’s research regulatory affairs manager Pearl Wasif is one of the 12 finalists of the fourth edition of the prestigious Lamea national programme.
The programme, a vision of His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, is dedicated to cultivating a generation of distinguished leaders capable of advancing Bahrain’s comprehensive development agenda.
Ms Wasif and her team were recognised for their work in crafting a policy aimed at improving mental health services in Bahrain in collaboration with Primary Healthcare Centres, Government Hospitals, Youth Affairs Ministry, WHO Country Office Bahrain and the United Nations Population Fund.
RCSI Bahrain president Sameer Otoom congratulated Ms Wasif for her accomplishment and exemplary leadership.
