The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) has announced its support for more than 50 Bahraini employees at MTQ Oilfield Services, a leading provider of technical solutions and maintenance services for the oil and gas industry.
This support includes wage increments for more than 40 Bahraini employees and training for 10 Bahraini nationals under the apprenticeship programme.
This initiative aligns with Tamkeen’s 2025 strategic priorities, which focus on enhancing the competitiveness of Bahrainis in the private sector, equipping them with relevant skills, and fostering enterprise growth.
Khalid Al Bayat, chief growth officer at Tamkeen, emphasised that this support underscores the organisation’s commitment to advancing employment opportunities and career development for Bahraini talent within the private sector, particularly in key sectors like manufacturing, which contributed 13.6 per cent to GDP in 2024.
“Through supporting MTQ Oilfield Services, we aim to enhance career growth for over 40 Bahraini employees and equip 10 Bahraini nationals with valuable skills through the apprenticeship programme, thereby improving their employability within the labour market,” added Mr Al Bayat.
Ahmed Abdullah, human resources manager at MTQ Oilfield Services, expressed gratitude for Tamkeen’s support. “We value our Bahraini workforce and recognise their crucial role in driving the company’s success,” said Mr Abdullah. “Tamkeen’s support in increasing salaries, enhancing career development, and refining skills will not only improve employee retention rates and boost productivity but also positively impact the company’s contribution to the national economy.”
MTQ Oilfield Services, a Singapore-based company, provides a comprehensive range of services to the oil and gas industry, including technical solutions, equipment maintenance, manufacturing, and field services.
