The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), in co-operation with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), concluded the Sustainable Water national campaign, launched in October under the theme “Every Drop Tells a Story”.
Oil and Environment Minister and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs Dr Mohammed Bin Daina, highlighted the campaign’s success in raising awareness about water conservation in line with Bahrain’s environmental strategies. He commended supporting entities for their contributions.
The campaign featured youth and agricultural forums, workshops, training sessions, and school competitions, promoting integrated water management and modern water resource technologies.
The closing ceremony included a presentation on the campaign’s outcomes, a documentary, and an awards ceremony recognising partners, media supporters, and winners of the “Sustainable Idea” competition.
Awards were presented to students and schools in various environmental competition categories. Al Isteqlal Secondary Girls School won first place for Best Campaign, followed by Modern Vision School in second and Al Hoora Secondary Girls School in third. Al Hidd Secondary Girls School took first place in the Innovation category, with Al Muharraq Secondary Boys School in second and Al Hoora Secondary Girls School in third.
The awards recognised students’ efforts in promoting water sustainability and environmental awareness.
