Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad and following the directive of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to inaugurate, renovate and restore 40 mosques affiliated with the Sunni and Jaafari Endowments Directorates across all governorates, Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Nawaf Al Maawda announced that the ministry has begun co-ordinating with the Sunni and Jaafari Endowments Directorates and the Urban Planning and Development Authority to commence and complete these projects.
The minister commended the success of the plan, initiated by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister during the month of Ramadan over the past three years, which launched the development of mosques and prayer halls, resulting in the inauguration, renovation and restoration of 82 places of worship affiliated with the Sunni and Jaafari Endowments Directorates across all governorates.
He praised commended HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s commitment to developing mosques and prayer halls, highlighting the government’s dedication to maintaining and expanding places of worship across Bahrain for citizens and residents.
In implementation of the directive of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the minister noted that work is underway to complete the procedures for inaugurating the following mosques:
Mohammed bin Mohammed Ahmadi Mosque (East Hidd), Al Watya Mosque (Saar), Ahmed Mohammed Ali Al Yousra Mosque (Al Dair), Zainal Mosque (Hamad Town) and Maryam Mosque (North Riffa).
The plan also includes laying the foundation stone for the following mosques:
Lulwa bint Abdulaziz Al Ali Al Bassam Mosque (North Riffa) and Yusuf Ahmed Ali Kanoo Mosque (Salman City).
The renovation and restoration procedures have commenced for the following mosques:
Manar Al Huda Grand Mosque (Al Nasfa), Al Awadhi Grand Mosque (Bilad Al Qadeem), Shaikh Mansour Mosque (Nuwaidrat), Shaikh Ahmed Grand Mosque (Ma’ameer), Widad Yaqoob Al Muftah Mosque (Al Hidd), Omar bin Abdulaziz Mosque (Muharraq), Abu Loif Mosque (Tubli), Ras Rumman Grand Mosque (Ras Rumman), Haj Ibrahim Hassan Kamal Mosque (Muharraq), Al Nasr Mosque (Isa Town), Zain Al Abidin Mosque (Bani Jamra), Mohammed Touq Mosque (Sitra), Sayyed Abduljalil Mosque (Central Manama), Yaqoob Al Nafisi Grand Mosque (Salman Industrial City), Shaikh Mohammed Mosque (Malkiya), Shaikh Ibrahim (Al Abreeq) Mosque (Arad), Ahmed bin Ajlan Mosque (West Riffa), Suhaib Al Rumi Mosque (East Riffa), Al Khidr Mosque (Abu Saiba), Al Muntathar Grand Mosque (Dar Kulaib), Shaikh Salman Mosque (Muharraq), Shaikh Al Islam Ibn Taymiyyah Grand Mosque (Al Hajjiyat), Amir Al Mu’minin Mosque (Arad), Imam Ali Mosque (Saar), Fatima Grand Mosque (Isa Town), Al Tarajneh Mosque (Al Masla), Abu Talib Mosque (Isa Town), New A’ali Grand Mosque (A’ali), Sayyeda Zainab Mosque (Hamad Town), Al Watya Mosque (Zinj), Imam Hassan Mosque (Al Qarya), and Shaikh Yaseen Mosque (Jidhafs).
