Several government websites continued to experience temporary downtime yesterday that affected their services and systems, the Information and eGovernment Authority announced.
It said: “Some government services, systems and websites in Bahrain are experiencing temporary technical challenges. The concerned teams are currently working on resolving the issue to restore all systems, services and applications back to normal shortly.”
The websites were down following an Iranian drone attack targeting a company facility on Tuesday, as highlighted in yesterday’s GDN.
Among those affected were expatriates who could not remit money to their loved ones back home, as Bahrain Financing Company posted on its social media account that it was ‘experiencing a temporary service interruption’, as work was being carried out to restore systems.
A similar message was posted by financial technology provider Beyon Money which sent out text messages to its customers stating its remittance services too had been temporarily unavailable due to a system issue.
“Your funds are safe. Any unsuccessful transactions will be refunded once services are restored,” it added.
