Four men aboard a boat were arrested by the Coast Guard yesterday for shrimping during the ban period.
The men, who tried to collide with the navy boat to escape, have been described as Asian expatriates by the authorities.
The Coast Guard have advised fishermen to abide by all laws relating to banned activities.
The shrimping ban, which started last month, is in effect until July 31. It is in place to allow stocks to replenish.
