The Works Ministry has almost completed a series of preparatory works in readiness of hosting thousands of visitors over the F1 weekend.
As part of the groundwork to host the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2025 at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir, 1,762 additional parking spaces have been created, as well as technical support provided for the construction of three temporary pedestrian bridges to ensure easy movement and safety.
Other arrangements include repainting road markings, sidewalks and parking areas, marking sand parking areas, maintaining and cleaning traffic lights and signs and installing traffic cones and lane closure provisions for surrounding roads, in co-ordination with the Interior Ministry’s General Traffic Directorate.
Efforts to ensure the efficiency of the sewage and rainwater drainage networks continue too. Manholes along Bahrain Bay Road have been cleaned with preventive measures taken at pumping stations serving the area, with backup generators provided to ensure uninterrupted operations.
The ministry has also allocated round-the-clock field teams to deal with any emergencies that might arise during the event, in co-ordination with the relevant authorities.
Visitors will be asked to adhere to safety guidelines and co-operate to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.
