Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa yesterday chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet commended His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s attendance at the “Concordia” Unveiling Event, a monumental stained-glass artwork by internationally acclaimed artist Sir Brian Clarke.
The Cabinet reiterated the kingdom’s commitment to developing Bahrain International Airport by enhancing its competitiveness. The artwork enhances the airport’s aesthetic value and the experience of visitors and travellers by integrating art and culture into public spaces.
In this regard, the Cabinet welcomed the multiple international awards received by Bahrain International Airport in 2024-2025, including being recognised as the “World’s Best Airport Serving 5-10 Million Passengers.”
The Cabinet welcomed the kingdom’s election as a member of the Arab Charter for Human Rights Committee, reflecting the trust of the Arab League members in the kingdom’s commitment to human rights and its progress under the National Human Rights Plan.
The Cabinet discussed several memorandums during the meeting, approving the following:
1. A memorandum submitted by the Civil Service Council on restructuring several government agencies to improve efficiency.
2. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Fiscal Balance on the kingdom’s contributions to regional and international organisations.
3. A memorandum from the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on a draft law amending the decree law regulating advertising.
4. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on a draft resolution naming the competent administrative body and minister responsible for cultural and artistic associations, clubs, and private cultural and artistic institutions, and defining their scope of work.
5. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on a draft resolution regulating navigation permits for visiting ships in Bahraini waters.
6. A memorandum submitted by the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister on the acquisition of real estate for public use, to provide necessary spaces for urban development.
7. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the government’s response to four proposals presented by Parliament.
The Cabinet also reviewed the following:
1. The outcomes of the Foreign Minister’s visit to the US, including a meeting at the United Nations headquarters in New York, regarding Bahrain’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2026-2027 term.
2. The outcomes of the kingdom’s participation in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF 2025).
3. The outcomes of the visit programme for the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister to the GCC countries.
4. The outcomes of the official visit of the Electricity and Water Affairs Minister to Italy.
5. The outcomes of the 14th edition of the AIM Congress.
