An introductory and familiarisation meeting was organised by the Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) for its new members.
The event featured a brief about the society’s origins, specialisations, objectives, committees, operations and procedures to be followed in emergency response and humanitarian aid.
The session also covered the values and principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the fundamentals of humanitarian work and the society’s activities and efforts of volunteers.
New members were introduced to the organisational structure and various departments of the society and given the opportunity to choose the committee that best aligned with their interests and expertise.
According to society secretary-general Mubarak Al Hadi, the meeting offered a platform for interaction, allowed newcomers to ask questions, gain further guidance and exchange ideas with veteran members.
“The society offers an ideal environment for volunteers to learn, grow, expand their knowledge, and develop their skills through participation in field activities, humanitarian projects, collaboration with diverse teams, and exposure to different cultures,” he said.
“We remain committed to attracting passionate volunteers dedicated to serving in various relief and humanitarian efforts.”
