A concert marking Europe Day and celebrating the values of unity and diversity will be held in Bahrain next month.
‘The Magic of Classical Music’ is being organised by the Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra in co-operation with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca) and the European Union delegation to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman.
The concert, at the Bahrain National Theatre on May 9 at 8pm, will take the audience on a musical journey through some of the greatest masterpieces ever composed, featuring iconic works by Beethoven, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Bizet, Sibelius, Bartók and Puccini.
The performance will include guest appearances by soprano Mirika Franchino and violin soloist Oliga Arribas Quintana from the European Union, bringing the timeless pieces to life.
“We are excited to offer our audiences a unique musical experience. The concert will be an opportunity to enjoy timeless works from the world’s musical heritage,” said orchestra director Dr Mubarak Najm.
Founded in March 2022 under the esteemed direction of the Bahraini maestro, the Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra unites more than 100 gifted musicians and choir members.
Supported by the Bahraini government and Baca, this cultural initiative embodies the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, illuminating Bahrain as a vibrant and dynamic hub of artistic creativity.
