The session was held remotely in co-operation with the United Nations Resident Co-ordinator’s Office in Bahrain and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), with the participation of experts and statisticians from relevant government entities.
The workshop is part of the ministry’s programme to update national SDG indicator data. It aims to improve data quality, ensure timeliness and continuity, and strengthen national statistical capacities.
The session focused on explaining the methodology for calculating 23 environmental and climate related SDG indicators under the responsibility of UNEP. Key themes included natural resource management, sustainable consumption and production, biodiversity protection, green financing, and environmental technologies.
Participants also reviewed procedures for verifying data quality and emphasised the importance of co-ordination to ensure data accuracy, consistency and sustainability.
