Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani yesterday met Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Minister Ayman Safadi.
They reviewed the longstanding and advanced relations between Bahrain and Jordan, led by His Majesty King Hamad and King Abdullah.
The ministers discussed efforts to enhance co-operation at all levels within the framework of existing agreements and memoranda of understanding. They also emphasised the need to activate and expand co-operation across various sectors and further develop ongoing consultation on regional and international issues of shared interest, particularly in international forums.
Mr Safadi was briefed on the ministry’s digital transformation efforts, including systems and electronic services available to citizens at home and abroad. He was also informed about the platform used to monitor bilateral relations and track the implementation of projects and programmes under signed agreements. The briefing covered the ministry’s initiatives in diplomatic training, human rights protection, and the projects implemented as part of the National Human Rights Plan.
The ministers discussed the latest regional developments, focusing on efforts to establish a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, secure the release of hostages and detainees, ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid, and advance efforts towards a just and comprehensive peace.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies (MBMA) and the Jordanian Foreign Ministry’s Jordan Institute of Diplomacy to advance co-operation in diplomatic training, research and studies.
