Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa yesterday received Parliament members from India, led by MP Baijayant Panda.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ghanim Al Buainain was present. Shaikh Khalid highlighted the historical ties between Bahrain and India, founded on mutual respect and understanding.
Shaikh Khalid underscored Bahrain’s stance on regional and international issues, emphasising the kingdom’s commitment to peace, dialogue and diplomacy as a civilised means to resolve conflicts, and its rejection of all forms of violence.
He noted the importance of maintaining security and stability as essential pillars for sustainable development.
Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh and Parliament’s First Deputy Speaker Abdulnabi Salman also separately received Indian MPs’ delegation and reviewed issues of common interest and means to enhance parliamentary co-operation and exchange expertise between the two countries.
