BASKETBALL – BAHRAIN’S junior basketball national team have begun their overseas training camp in Bosnia and Herzegovina in preparation for the U16 Asia Cup Gulf Basketball Association (GBA) Qualifiers 2025.
The kingdom is set to host the tournament from July 7 to 12.
The Bahraini squad’s programme in Sarajevo is being supervised by their Tunisian head coach Rasem Al Marzouki.
The nationals are practising daily and they are expected to play a number of friendly games as part of their schedule.
All six GCC nations are taking part in the GBA competition, which is a qualification event for this year’s Fiba Asia U16 Championship, which is set to be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, this September.
Games will be held at the Bahrain Basketball Association Arena in Um Al Hassam, and play will begin with a preliminary round, to be followed by the knockouts.
The participating six-nation field in the tournament has been divided into two groups. Qatar, Kuwait, and the UAE are in Group A, while Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain are in Group B.
