The Arab League commended Kuwait, Sunday, for its pivotal contributions to joint Arab efforts over the past decades, marking the 64th anniversary of Kuwait's accession to the League.
The Arab League Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and the Occupied Arab Territories, Ambassador Saeed Abu Ali told KUNA that Kuwait's membership has been a valuable addition to the Arab system.
He said that Kuwait, since joining in 1961, has played a distinctive and influential role, known for its constructive initiatives and strategic vision that bolstered collective Arab action Abu Ali praised Kuwait's foreign policy, describing it as deeply rooted in understanding regional and international dynamics, and highlighted the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah's legacy in steering Kuwaiti diplomacy with wisdom and courage, especially during Arab crises in the 1970s and 1980s.
He stressed that Kuwait has consistently championed Arab unity and supported key causes, foremost among them is the Palestinian issue, which remains central to Kuwait's leadership and people.
He also lauded Kuwait's dynamic and humanitarian foreign policy and its commitment to Arab solidarity through active engagement in the Arab League framework.
Kuwait officially joined the Arab League as a full member on July 20, 1961, shortly after gaining independence.
