FOOTBALL – High-Ranking officials from the Bahrain Football Association (BFA), along with the kingdom’s senior men’s football national team head coach Dragan Talajic, attended on Wednesday night the final of the 2025-26 AFC Challenge League, won by Kuwait Club of Kuwait after defeating PKR Svay Rieng of Cambodia 4-3 in extra-time.
Kuwait’s roster features Bahraini football superstar Mohammed Jassim Marhoon, who scored one of his team’s goals in the title-deciding contest.
On hand were BFA vice-president Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa, BFA board member and national team supervisor Shaikh Ahmed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Talajic’s assistant coach Marjan Eid, BFA technical affairs head Ali Sanqour, and senior men’s national team administrator Abdulla Fardan.
Shaikh Khalifa congratulated Marhoon on their well-deserved victory, which reinforces the Bahraini player’s position as a cornerstone of international success and a source of national pride for the kingdom.
