His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the official launch of the Academic Excellence Authority.
SCYS secretary general Aymen Almoayyed, Youth Affairs Minister Rawan Tawfiqi and more than 100 outstanding students and graduates accepted into the authority also attended the event.
Shaikh Nasser affirmed that the authority reflects the vision of His Majesty in empowering Bahraini youth academically and professionally, and preparing them to contribute to national development.
He said the authority is a national platform to support top-performing students and channel their skills in research, innovation and entrepreneurship. It also contributes to enhancing Bahrain’s regional and global competitiveness and supports government priorities under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Shaikh Nasser underlined the importance of investing in scientific talents, saying: “Youth represent half of the present and the entirety of the future.” He said the authority will serve as a hub for academic excellence and innovation.
The authority’s board of directors chairman Abdulrahman Al Jalal thanked Shaikh Nasser for his continued support. He noted that the authority aims to go beyond recognition to become a platform that empowers and inspires youth.
The authority now includes more than 230 members, comprising top Bahraini achievers and graduates of the world’s leading universities, working together to serve the kingdom and support national development, he said.
The event also marked the launch of the authority’s visual identity, which will help establish its presence as a unified academic community.
The authority seeks to promote knowledge exchange, provide a supportive environment for scientific talent and enhance Bahrain’s presence in regional and international academic fields.
