More than 46,000 laboratory tests were conducted on treated and untreated wastewater during the first half of the year, according to a top official.
The tests covered wastewater received at treatment plants as well as water from commercial and industrial sources, said Works Ministry sanitary operation and maintenance directorate director Abdulnabi Al Kufi in a statement yesterday.

The Treated Wastewater Quality Monitoring Group has received ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation from the GCC Accreditation Centre in Saudi Arabia, reflecting efforts to ensure accuracy and quality in wastewater testing.
All wastewater treatment plants in Bahrain are subject to a comprehensive monitoring programme overseen by the ministry’s laboratories, as part of its commitment to service quality, system efficiency and sustainability.
