Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa met Riffa residents emphasising that fostering national belonging is a shared responsibility rooted in preserving authentic Bahraini traditions.
He praised the people of Riffa for their pride in and commitment to preserving Bahrain’s authentic customs and traditions, as well as for their active participation in all initiatives aimed at strengthening national identity.
Riffa residents valued Royal directives to preserve national tradition and reaffirmed loyalty to His Majesty King Hamad.
As part of commitment to strengthening citizen engagement and promoting a community partnership approach, the minister, who is also the Ministerial Follow-up Committee for the National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Nationalism chairman was visiting the West Riffa area, where he met citizens, in the presence of the Southern Governor and senior Interior Ministry officials.
At the beginning of the meeting, the minister conveyed the greetings of His Majesty and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He commended the role of Bahraini families and traditional majlises in safeguarding national heritage and cultural values.
He affirmed the importance of maintaining the social and cultural character of majlises, which he described as a national and civilisational legacy. “Majlises,” he said, “are schools for the younger generation where the customs, etiquette and traditions of Bahrain are passed down.”
He further praised the residents’ commitment to public security and national unity, highlighting the strength of Bahrain’s social fabric in addressing challenges and safeguarding national cohesion.
He stressed that reinforcing national belonging is a community-wide responsibility that calls for the preservation of time-honoured traditions and values.
The Interior Minister also listened to remarks from the residents, who expressed their pride in their cultural heritage and their dedication to national unity and social cohesion.
They commended the royal directives aimed at safeguarding Bahraini traditions and reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty to the King.
They also expressed gratitude to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his continued support, visits and the government’s efforts to implement development projects that have improved daily life and responded to citizens’ needs.
Residents also voiced appreciation for the Interior Ministry’s legal and security measures, which have helped restore peace and public order in the area.
They noted that actions taken against negative behaviours and violations had positively impacted the tranquility of residential neighbourhoods and strengthened public safety.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Riffa residents thanked the minister for his visit, which they described as a reflection of his keenness to remain engaged with citizens, embodying the principles of community partnership and its vital role in enhancing public security.
