His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has affirmed Bahrain’s steadfast commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, to protecting rights and safeguarding freedoms.
HRH Prince Salman also highlighted the kingdom’s efforts to advance legislation that supports labour rights and the interests of business owners.
He, along with Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, yesterday met Labour Market Regulatory Authority chief executive and National Committee for Combating Trafficking in Persons chairman Nibras Talib at Riffa Palace.
Present were members of the committee.
The meeting coincided with the occasion of World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.
HRH Prince Salman noted that these efforts form part of the kingdom’s broader national initiatives to combat human trafficking, enhance the work environment, improve related services and consolidate the kingdom’s position in this regard.
He commended the efforts of the committee and relevant entities, highlighting their achievements that are driven by a sense of unity. He also wished them continued success in fulfilling the kingdom’s aspirations.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister stressed the importance of strengthening the legislative framework and implementing policies and plans to support anti-trafficking efforts.
The Interior Minister and Mr Talib extended their gratitude for HRH Prince Salman’s support, affirming their commitment to enhancing the kingdom’s regional and international stance in combating human trafficking.
