A SPECIAL training programme on improving procedures for drawing blood and intravenous access was organised by the Government Hospitals.
Participants included medical and nursing professionals from all its facilities. The event was attended by Government Hospitals chief executive officer Dr Mariam Al Jalahma.

“The initiative comes as part of ongoing efforts to raise the quality of healthcare services and build the capacity of medical staff, through the adoption of international best practices and the application of the latest safety standards,” said a statement yesterday.
Government Hospitals training head Professor Omar Al Awadhi highlighted the importance of continued compliance with infection-control protocols and the implementation of approved procedures to safeguard both patients and healthcare workers.
The programme featured an exhibition of training tools and included a series of specialist lectures delivered by experts from departments including anaesthesia, cardiology, orthopaedics and infection control.
