National Security Adviser, Royal Guard Commander and Supreme Defence Council secretary general Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa visited the national cyber drill ‘Cyber Shield 2025’ held under his patronage and organised by the National Cyber Security Centre.
The drill was held under the theme ‘Supply Chain Attacks’, with wide participation from various government agencies and private sectors.
Lt Gen Shaikh Nasser underscored that the kingdom continues to enhance its national cyber security capabilities, recognising it as a strategic priority to protect the kingdom’s achievements and to safeguard the comprehensive development process, led by His Majesty King Hamad, with the support of the government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He noted that the national cyber drill embodies the kingdom’s awareness and recognition of the importance of joint action and ongoing co-ordination among all parties to confront cyber challenges, which have emerged as the greatest security threat of the current era.
He commended the efforts of the Bahraini professionals taking part in the drill, commending their dedication to build a secure and resilient cyber environment in line with the kingdom’s aspirations for a digital future.
He was briefed on the drill’s stages, implementation mechanisms, and the advanced cyber aspects, which aim to enhance national readiness in the face of ever-increasing digital threats.
