ASIAN YOUTH GAMES – SUPREME Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the efforts of the supreme organising committee and executive committee of the third Asian Youth Games.
This came during the supreme organising committee’s meeting, chaired by Shaikh Khalid, held yesterday to review the latest preparations for the mega multi-sport event, with about 40 days remaining until the Games’ official opening ceremony.
Shaikh Khalid praised the cooperation between all relevant ministries, government agencies, and private sector institutions, and noted the role of the executive committee and its efforts, which were appreciated and commended by the Olympic Council of Asia.
During the meeting, Shaikh Khalid was briefed on the offer submitted by the Ministry of Works to contribute to the organisation process and provide all necessary facilities to host the Games.
Shaikh Khalid was also briefed on the work report of supreme organising committee members, the final report of the sports programme, the timetable for the plan developed by the executive committee, and other latest preparations.
The Games’ executive committee, headed by Yusuf Duaij Muhoorfi, also submitted a detailed report that included a series of statistics and information on the number of participants, the facilities including competition stadiums and training venues, the number of workers in the committees, meetings, hotels, agreements, the number of participating technical staff, the transportation fleet, and the remaining percentages of completion in all committees.
Shaikh Khalid stressed on the importance of continuing to work diligently to achieve all requirements for the success of hosting the Games in all aspects.
