Bahrain will always be special for K S Chithra, the ‘Nightingale of South India’, not only because she has family here, but also because her first performance abroad was in the kingdom in 1985.
Over the years, as her career blossomed, Ms Chithra has become a mainstay in the kingdom’s expatriate cultural scene, and she is set to serenade fans tonight during a special Onam concert at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam’s (BKS) Diamond Jubilee Hall, with a set list packed with favourites and a few special surprises .
