BASKETBALL – The Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) team won the Police Open 3x3 Basketball Championship held by Public Security Sports Association at the Muharraq Club Sports Hall.
The winners defeated the Capital Governorate Police Directorate team 21–20 in the final, which witnessed strong competition.
The event was held in the presence of Inspector-General Major-General Abdulla Mohammed Al Zayed, along with several directors and officials from the Interior Ministry.
Inspector-General Al Zayed said that the Police Open Basketball Championship reflects the Interior Ministry’s commitment to supporting sports activities among its personnel, helping to enhance cooperation and establish sport as a lifestyle that positively affects professional performance.
On his part, Public Security Sports Association president Brigadier Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayyat explained that organising the championship is part of the programmes the association implements to encourage sport in the police work environment and enhance positive competition among ministry personnel.
The championship featured 12 teams from various Interior Ministry departments, alongside several Bahraini national basketball players who participated as professionals, reinforcing community partnership.
