CYCLING – BAHRAIN Victorious Development Team rider Seth Dunwoody triumphed yesterday in the third stage of the Turul Ciclist al Romaniei 2025, being held in Romania.
Dunwoody triumphed in the 180-kilometre leg, held between the cities of Brasov and Buzau, with a strong sprint to the finish. The Irishman won ahead of runner-up Matthew Dodd of Tirol KTM Cycling Team while Cristian Raileanu of Romania’s national team came third.
Dunwoody took first place with a total stage time of three hours 59 minutes and nine seconds. Dodd was classified a second behind, while Raileanu came home three seconds back.
Dunwoody’s victory added to his podium finish for second place in the race’s opening stage.
Along with taking the stage win, which earned him the orange jersey, Dunwoody also now holds three of the race’s other jerseys. He wears the polka dot jersey as leader in the points standings, the green jersey as number one in the best climber ranking, and the red jersey as the leader in the best sprinter battle.
The elite men’s road race is scheduled to continue today with the fourth and penultimate stage, covering 212km – the longest of the five stages.
