ENDURANCE HORSERACING – BAHRAIN’S Royal Endurance Team achieved second place yesterday in a 160-kilometre international ride in Florac, France.
Jockey Hamad Al Janahi and his horse Sw Izquiulm secured the runner-up spot after tough competition with French rider May Manifacier, who claimed first place on her horse Djoba De Palmas.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Abdulrahman Al Khatri on Farouk De La Saulire was disqualified from the event following a technical decision from the judging panel.
Royal Stables and Bahrain Royal Endurance Team general manager Dr Khaled Ahmed Hassan emphasised that this result represents a significant gain within the team’s strategy to enhance its presence in international championships and hone the expertise of its young riders.
He added that stepping onto the podium in Florac represents a strong incentive to continue working to raise the kingdom’s profile in various international sporting events.
