Bahrain has long been a place where diverse religious and cultural communities have peacefully coexisted, Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa has said.
It continues to promote the values of coexistence, unity and mutual respect that have long defined the fabric of Bahraini society, he said as he visited several families, on behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to mark the festival of Diwali yesterday.
Shaikh Mohammed affirmed that the kingdom, under the far-reaching visions of His Majesty King Hamad and the directives of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has historically been a benchmark for regional tolerance.
He underscored the kingdom’s ongoing commitment to advancing tolerance and peaceful coexistence, in line with its values and proud history of cultural pluralism.
During the visits, Shaikh Mohammed conveyed the greetings of HRH Prince Salman to the Muljimal, Kavalani, Thaker, Nair, Bhatia and Asarpota families, along with his appreciation for their valuable contributions across various sectors and their active role in strengthening Bahrain’s cohesive social fabric.
Shaikh Mohammed extended his best wishes to the families on the occasion of Diwali, commending their role in supporting community initiatives and advancing cohesion and unity within Bahraini society.
The families expressed their gratitude for HRH Prince Salman’s continuous engagement with all segments of Bahraini society, and to him for the visit.
They also extended their best wishes for Bahrain’s continued progress and prosperity.
Several senior officials were also in attendance.
