An event marking Austria’s National Day was recently held at the Sheraton Hotel Bahrain, bringing together members of the Austrian community for an evening of culture, cuisine and connection.
Organised by Austrians in Bahrain group community organiser Peter Rottensteiner, the celebration featured a specially curated Austrian-themed menu prepared by the hotel’s talented culinary team.
Some dishes included hearty beef soup with semolina dumplings, crispy weiner schnitzel, cheese spaetzli with fried onions and potatoes and more.

Founded in 2017, the Austrians in Bahrain community currently has around 50 members, with 30 members attending this year’s National Day celebration.
Over the years, Austrian expatriates have made valuable contributions to Bahrain’s economy across diverse sectors, including oil and gas, business development, manufacturing, construction, electronic solutions, aerospace, education, hospitality and culinary arts.
