A Jordanian father was sentenced to two months in jail for slapping his son across the face after seeing his report card during a parent-teacher meeting.
The complaint was reportedly made by the 15-year-old boy himself.
However, the father's lawyer managed to appeal the decision, arguing that the son was struck in a moment of frustration. He said it was an act of ill-timed parental discipline and there was no malicious intent. The son allegedly caused a scene and insulted his father.
The court overturned the decision and sent them all home to what was undoubtedly an awkward family dinner.
