His Majesty King Hamad has issued a Decree-Law on the regulation of railways, aimed at establishing an integrated framework for the development, management, operation, maintenance and expansion of railway networks in Bahrain in accordance with the best international standards and practices.
The law, published in the Official Gazette, aims to enhance transparency, equal opportunities, and competitiveness as well as raise operational safety standards, protect lives and property, encourage investment and boost the private sector participation.
