The new Molecular Laboratory at Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) was inaugurated yesterday by Government Hospitals chief executive officer Dr Mariam Al Jalahma.
The facility is part of ongoing efforts to develop laboratory and diagnostic services in government hospitals, in line with the directives of the Supreme Council of Health.
Dr Al Jalahma emphasised that the Molecular Laboratory represents a qualitative addition to the diagnostic infrastructure at SMC, providing advanced capabilities in analysing genetic and molecular samples, contributing to early disease detection and enhancing diagnostic and treatment accuracy.
She expressed her gratitude to all medical and technical teams involved in implementing the project.
She also praised the efforts of the national staff who operate the laboratory according to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Dr Al Jalahma highlighted that the project seeks to achieve the objectives of the National Health Plan (2016-2025), which aims to improve the quality and sustainability of healthcare services for citizens and residents of the kingdom.
