Pomp and grandeur rent the air yesterday at a ceremonial display reflecting the solidarity between Bahrain and Malaysia.
His Majesty King Hamad visited King Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar of Malaysia, as part of the Malaysian leader’s state visit to Bahrain.
They exchanged talks reflecting the long-standing ties and their shared commitment to further develop them.
His Majesty and the King of Malaysia then visited the Police Fort where the convoy was received by Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, accompanied by a mounted police escort.
The police band performed the national anthems of both countries, after which the guard of honour was presented to the two monarchs.
The police band then gave a ceremonial display.
His Majesty expressed appreciation to the Interior Minister for the ministry’s continued development, and commended the dedication and professionalism of Bahrain’s security personnel.
The Malaysian King signed the visitors’ book, expressing his pleasure at the visit and his appreciation for the advanced level and professionalism demonstrated by the Interior Ministry.
A commemorative gift was then presented to him on the occasion.
The leaders held talks, emphasising the strong relations and mutual commitment to advance joint work in all areas that serve their shared interests.
Furthermore, the King bid farewell to King Sultan Ibrahim, commending the success of the state visit to Bahrain and the outcomes that will enhance the close ties between the two kingdoms.
Gen Shaikh Rashid hosted a luncheon honouring the Malaysian monarch and his accompanying delegation.
The luncheon was attended by His Majesty’s Personal Representative and head of the mission of honour Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Later, the Malaysian King was bid farewell by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, following the conclusion of his state visit.
Shaikh Abdulla, Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Muharraq Governor Salman Bin Hindi also bid farewell to the Malaysian monarch.
