FOOTBALL – AL Ma’ameer Club claimed their second straight victory to continue their impressive run in the 22nd Kingdom Golden Generation U-17 Youth Centres Championship, organised by the Empowerment Youth Centre in Al Sahla in co-operation with the Abu Quwah and Al Hoora and Gudaibiya Youth Centres.
In their latest fixture, Ma’ameer cruised past Al Shakhoura 4-0 to move top of Group A, while in Group B, Al Sanabis celebrated its first win of the competition with a narrow 1-0 triumph over Samaheej.
Ma’ameer dominated from start to finish, producing a clinical display that saw them hit four unanswered goals. Mohamed Adel Hashem netted twice in the 13th and 38th minutes of the first half, with Ali Jassim also on target in the 32nd. Isa Nabeel rounded off the scoring midway through the second half in the 78th minute.
In the other encounter, Sanabis secured victory through a lone strike from Mahdi Mahmood Al Hawaj just five minutes after the break. The winners defended resolutely to preserve their lead and collect their first three points.
Next up, Al Sahla North will meet Al Hoora and Gudaibiya today.
Ma’ameer currently top Group A with six points, followed by Abu Quwah, Shakhoura, and Karzakan on three points each, while Al Qadisiyah remains without points.
In Group B, Hoora and Qudaibiya and Sahla share the lead with four points apiece – the former ahead on goal difference – followed by Sanabis with three points, Karrana with two, and Shakhoura with none. All teams have played two matches so far.
