FOOTBALL – St Christopher’s School announced yesterday a new strategic partnership with the Steven Gerrard Academy.
This follows the success of the third St Chris Steven Gerrard Soccer Camp held over the half-term break, and it will give students access to the very best in football instruction while setting a new benchmark for player and coach development in Bahrain.
Launching in September of 2026, the Steven Gerrard Football Academy at St Christopher’s School will provide students the opportunity to sign up to this new world-class football academy in Bahrain.
This long-term collaboration represents a shared commitment to elevating the standard of football coaching, player development, and community engagement across the kingdom.
At the heart of this partnership is the appointment of a Uefa A Licence football development head, who will lead the school’s comprehensive football programme on its Fifa-accredited pitches.
This new role will ensure that every player, from beginner to advanced, benefits from world-class coaching and a structured pathway that supports both athletic and personal growth.
“This partnership is about more than just sport, it’s about creating opportunity,” said St Christopher’s principal Dr Simon Watson.
“Together with the Steven Gerrard Academy, we aim to build a lasting football legacy that inspires students, supports coaches, and strengthens community participation in Bahrain.”
Beyond Bahrain, the partnership will enable students to gain access to global pathways in football, preparing them for future careers in sports.
World-class tours and opportunities to connect with other professional academies, along with visits to Liverpool to work closely with their team, will ensure students have the best possible exposure to the football industry.
“We are delighted to deepen our relationship with St Christopher’s and to support football development in Bahrain,” said Gerrard.
“This partnership allows us to share our passion, expertise, and philosophy with a growing football community that’s eager to learn and compete at the highest level.”
The partnership reflects St Christopher’s enduring legacy of excellence and its commitment to nurturing well-rounded, confident student-athletes.
Through this collaboration, the school aims to leave a lasting imprint on Bahrain’s sporting landscape – one built on passion, opportunity, and community.
More information about this exciting collaboration will be shared over the coming months as both organisations work together to shape the future of football in Bahrain.
