FATIMA Ahmed has become the first Bahraini woman to chair the Association of Bahrain Travel and Tour Agents (ABTTA).
In a landmark election, ABTTA installed a seven-member board with Ms Ahmed as chairwoman.
The rest of the team includes vice-chairman CD Singh, secretary-general Hamad Amin, treasurer-general Haifa Oun and board members Habeel Al Khayyat, Mohammed Bader Kaiksow and Mona Al Hussaini, and Mohammed Almurshed as a reserve board member.

Ms Ahmed, representing the board, vowed to raise professional standards, expand training, and boost member services while actively promoting Bahrain as a premier tourism hub.
She also revealed that the aim is to strengthen ties with authorities and partners to support safe, sustainable travel.
