Around 400 of the brightest young brains in the kingdom put their mathematical prowess to the test in a popular annual festival.
Brainobrain Bahrain staged the seventh National Abacus Competition Festival, Brainobrainfest 2025, at Britus International School in Salmabad, allowing participants to exhibit an outstanding level of abacus mastery and mental arithmetic.
The event featured numerous rounds where children aged from five to 14 competed in structured categories aligned with their age and skill levels. It was followed by an awards ceremony for the highest achievers. There were a total of 80 winners across age groups and those who showcased exceptional speed and accuracy were recognised with Champion, Gold and Silver Awards.
Brainobrain Bahrain directors Hima Joy and George Raphel were present at the programme, which was also attended by proud parents and supporters.
Brainobrain International technical director and master Neuro-Linguistic Programming trainer Arul Subramaniam was the guest of honour. He highlighted the ‘transformative impact’ of competitions on children’s learning attitudes, emphasising the benefits students gain from consistent practice of the Brainobrain programme.

Chief guest and member of parliament for the Capital Governorate – First District Mohamed Janahi applauded the participants for their dedication, and commended Brainobrain for providing an exceptional platform that supports children’s holistic development.
Established in 2003, Brainobrain remains a premier abacus and skill-development programme, aimed at strengthening academic performance, cognitive abilities and essential life skills. The organisation spans 46 countries, including Bahrain, the UAE, the US, Australia, India, Zambia, Malaysia and Switzerland.
More than 400,000 children have benefited from the programme that is conducted across more than 1,000 centres worldwide.
The platform has been recognised through many awards for being the best children’s educational brand and even holds world records, including the famed Guinness World Records. Brainobrain Bahrain was launched in 2017.
