Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday inaugurated the Agro Careers digital platform, held under his patronage.
The first initiative of its kind in the kingdom, this platform provides aspiring farmers with academic and professional guidance.
He emphasised the importance of the agricultural sector, noting that its development can empower and attract local Bahrainis, driving greater agricultural innovation.
Shaikh Mohammed noted that such efforts support the kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad, and guided by the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He highlighted the pivotal role of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty and NIAD Advisory Council president, in its ongoing efforts to advancing the kingdom’s agricultural sector.
“Agriculture is essential for strengthening Bahrain’s food security and advancing the its sustainable development goals,” he said, reaffirming Bahrain’s commitment to adopting forward-looking initiatives that drive agricultural innovation and enable the kingdom’s farmers to succeed.
“The launch of the Agro Careers platform represents a vital step towards introducing younger generations to emerging agricultural professions. These efforts ensure alignment between future career choices and the evolving needs of the sector, he added.

The Agro Careers platform forms part of NIAD’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness of opportunities in agricultural technology, environmental sciences and plant production. The platform aims to guide future generations towards specialisations that meet labour-market needs and foster innovation across the sector.
It features a comprehensive database that supports the kingdom’s socioeconomic and environmental development priorities, while providing detailed insights into agricultural professions to help students make informed and future-oriented career decisions.
