FOOTBALL – KARZAKAN secured the second qualifying spot from Group A in the 22nd Kingdom Golden Generation U-17 Youth Centres Championship, organised by the Empowerment Youth Centre in Al Sehla in co-operation with the Abu Quwah and Al Hoora and Gudaibiya Youth Centres.
Karzakan booked their berth after a dominant 8-1 victory over Al Qadisiya.
Karzakan’s standout performer Khaleel Ibrahim delivered a brilliant hat-trick, while the remaining goals came through Kareem Ahmed, Redha Abbas, Sayed Jaafar Ali, Mohamed Jaber, and Ali Hussain. Yousif Hassan scored Qadisiya’s lone goal.
The win lifted Karzakan to nine points, finishing behind group leaders Al Ma’ameer, who had already booked their place in the semi-finals with a perfect 12 points.
As for the rest of the standings, Abu Quwah and Al Shakhoura remain level on three points each and will face one another in a match that will not affect the qualification picture, while Qadisiya sits fifth without any points.
In Group B, Sanabis will face Karrana this evening at 5.15pm, followed by tomorrow’s 5.30pm match between Samaheej and Al Sehla North.
Sehla North tops the group with seven points and has already secured their semis berth, followed by Sanabis with six points, Karrana with five, Hoora and Gudaibiya with four, and Samaheej without points.
