An Arab man stole a Rolex watch that had been left behind in a restaurant restroom but later returned it when he was unable to sell it.
The watch’s owner realised he had forgotten the timepiece, valued at KD4,800 (BD5,800), and contacted the restaurant management, who alerted the police. Officers reviewed surveillance footage and identified the suspect.
When authorities reached out, the man voluntarily surrendered and returned the watch. He admitted that he had tried to sell it but failed, as selling a Rolex typically requires presenting warranty cards and accessories for authentication.
The incident has been recorded as a theft, and investigations are ongoing to determine whether further legal action should be taken.
