ENDURANCE HORSERACING – HIS Majesty King Hamad’s humanitarian work and youth affairs representative, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman, and Bahrain Royal Endurance Team captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended yesterday the veterinary examination for the FEI Asian Championships in Pattaya, Thailand.
Also present were SCYS first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa; along with Supreme Council for the Environment vice-president, Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) High Committee deputy chairman, and SCYS member Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa; Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa; Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa; Shaikh Faisal bin Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa; and Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Nasser will lead the Royal Endurance Team in the 120-kilometre ride with his horse Everest La Maggiore, on which he won the world championship title last year in France.
Shaikh Nasser affirmed that the Asian championship is an important milestone for the team in its regional and international participations.
He explained that they have been working diligently and continuously to prepare the horses and riders to the highest technical standards, noting the team’s aspirations to achieve positive results that enhance Bahrain’s presence in international forums and consolidate its honorable history and continuous achievements on the international stage.
Shaikh Nasser led the team’s final training session, which focused on technical aspects, ensuring that they are in the best possible condition for the race.
Shaikh Nasser will be joined in the ride by Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Shaikh Ahmed bin Salman Al Khalifa, Mohammed Al Hashimi, and Saud Mubarak Sabt.
