Sharjah police have arrested a driver involved in a hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a 14-month-old toddler earlier this month.
The tragic incident occurred when the child wandered out of his home and onto the road, where he was struck by a vehicle. The driver fled the scene immediately after the collision.
The accident was witnessed by the toddler’s two-year-old brother, who alerted their mother. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the child was pronounced dead on arrival.
Authorities launched an investigation and identified and apprehended the suspect. The driver has been referred to the Public Prosecution and awaits further legal action.
