GOLF – The Victorious Team, led by His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, emerged as winners of the Pro-Am tournament yesterday, held as part of the King Hamad Trophy golf championship at the Royal Golf Club.
The Victorious team, consisting of Shaikh Nasser, Luke Joy, Philip Clough, and Sofiane Toudaoui, claimed victory with a total of 107 points.
Shaikh Nasser affirmed that the King Hamad Trophy has become one of the most prominent championships in the region and the world, witnessing the participation of elite professional and amateur players, and confirms the kingdom’s position in hosting international sporting events.
He added that the Victorious team’s victory is the result of joint efforts and a spirit of teamwork, wishing the team continued success and praising the high level of competition and sportsmanship witnessed during the competition.
Ninety-six players, both professionals and amateurs, representing more than 20 nations from around the world are taking part in the three-day, 54-hole King Hamad Trophy, which is being held under the royal patronage of His Majesty.
It is organised and run by the Bahrain Golf Association.
The winner of this year’s tournament will receive an invitation to compete in the DP World Tour’s Bahrain Championship in 2026.
The leading 10 professionals will also receive cash prizes, with the champion pocketing $10,000.
The runner-up will come away with $6,800 and the third-placer gets $4,600.
