National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons of Mass Destruction first vice-chairman and representative of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Brigadier Samir Ahmed Al Zayani led Bahrain’s delegation at the 30th session of the Conference of the States Parties, which oversees the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention, held in The Hague.
He noted that the conference is being held at a sensitive time internationally, which requires stronger co-ordination and shared responsibility to maintain an effective chemical disarmament system .
