A 46-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly luring a 15-year-old girl through social media and assaulting her, the Interior Ministry announced yesterday.
The Child Protection in Cyberspace Unit confirmed that an investigation was launched immediately upon receiving the report.
Authorities gathered evidence and information that led to the suspect’s identification and arrest.
Legal procedures are underway to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.
Parents are urged to closely monitor their children’s online activities and educate them about the risks associated with social media.
Suspected activities that may pose a risk to children’s safety should be reported to the unit either in person, or by calling 33523300, emailing cpcu@interior.gov.bh, dialing the General Directorate of Anti-
Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security’s hotline at 992, or through the MyGov application.
