Former Gulf Air pilots and cabin crew flew down from all over the world for a reunion at the Gold Tulip in Manama yesterday. The gathering, organised by retired Bahraini cabin crew member Waleed Buhammod, brought together around 270 former staff members. Briton Yvonne Ryce, who flew in from the south of France, gave a talk bringing alive ‘golden’ memories. “We may come from different countries, decades, and roles, but tonight we’re all part of one Gulf Air family,” Ms Ryce said as part of her introduction. “Tonight, we’re not just celebrating a reunion, we’re marking an incredible milestone – 75 years of Gulf Air,” she added. The event will be followed by other activities, including Bahraini breakfast and sightseeing and cultural trips until December 2.
