Sofia Lomakina from Russia secured a title double yesterday in the J30 Manama Bahrain ITF Juniors Tournament, which came to a close at the Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) courts in Isa Town.
A day after winning the girls’ doubles crown with playing partner Sara Dessouky from Egypt, Sofia captured the girls’ singles championship with a 6-2, 6-0 win against compatriot Vera Iamina.
Meanwhile, Sergi Ramis Coll from Spain clinched the boys’ singles title after defeating Daisuke Hashimoto from Japan 6-2, 6-3 in their final yesterday at the BTF.
The tournament was the latest of a series of events in the kingdom held as part of this year’s International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Tennis Tour Juniors calendar.
