BOXING – The Bahrain Boxing Federation (BBF) announced yesterday that its long-time technical director and national team head coach Tony Davis has moved on from posts.
The BBF paid tribute to Davis in a post on social media, which stated: “The BBF would like to extend its thanks to Coach Tony Davis for his services during his tenure with the Federation, and we wish him all the best in his career.”
Davis has been instrumental in the rapid development of boxing in Bahrain.
He spearheaded the organisation of numerous major boxing events and helped the kingdom’s fighters excel at the international, continental, and regional levels, winning numerous medals for the kingdom.
Davis also guided Bahrain’s Danis Latypov in the men’s boxing competition at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021.
It is understood that Davis will remain in Bahrain as he takes on a new role in the kingdom’s sporting family.
